Easter Bliss in Cayman

Easter in Cayman is blissful.  It is a time for reflection, renewal and relaxion, and there is no better place than Plantana to make the most of Easter.  Church services, Easter themed brunches, camping, egg hunts and bunny encounters, kite-flying and beach days all make this time of year one to embrace.  Here is the short list of things you can do this weekend:

Plantana’s Annual Easter Egg Hunt for its guests and children of staff is a highly anticipated event on the property.  More than 200 brightly colored eggs are stashed in our flowering gardens and special prizes can be won, sometimes just for being a first timer to the Hunt! Over the years we have seen our young guests and extended Plantana family grow up before our eyes, so it is always a treat to host this Easter Sunday tradition.  Check in with the office for details on how to get your basketsful of chocolate, caramels and juicy fruit candies!

Easter church services are held throughout the Islands, and several churches are just a short distance from Plantana Condos.  Christ the Redeemer Catholic Church and Wesleyan Holiness Church are located in West Bay, less than 10 minutes drive from your beach home.  A full listing of churches and their contact details can be found here.

Camping is definitely at the top of the list for many locals during Easter.  Whether keeping it simple on the public beaches with a tent and the basics, or going all out with a cabana, generator, gas grills and portable facilities, the popularity of camping has increased in the recent years.  Keep your eyes open for colorful tents along the coastline and enjoy (or join!) families as they unwind and enjoy quality time together in our beautiful surroundings.

If rugged doesn’t appeal to you, a fancy Easter themed brunch just might! Brunch is always a must when in Cayman, and during holiday weekends it is something to savor.  The Ritz-Carlton, the Kimpton Seafire, Agua, LUCA, Marriott Beach Resort and many other fine dining establishments create the most incredible dishes and beverages for their Easter menus, and if you’re craving delicious, delectable fare this weekend, be sure to call asap as tables fill up fast.  And don’t forget to ask about other Easter activities they might have; the Easter bunny has been known to turn up at hotels each year!

And of course, you can always spend the day at the beach.  Kite Fest at Kaibo on the eastern end of the island is happening on Easter Monday, and it is expected to have a wonderful turnout of locals and visitors.  This relaxing treat that will remind you of the days of yore and inspire reflection, but even a laid-back day in the rejuvenating sea can do that for you.

If you are dreaming of Cayman and aren’t at Plantana this Easter weekend, contact us for short stay opportunities or take advantage of our ‘stay for 7, pay for 6’ now through summer.
