2019 in the Caribbean’s Culinary Capital

There’s no better way to enjoy the first month of the New Year than by relaxing under our shady seagrape tree, sunbathing with a delicious cocktail by the pool or taking a dip in the refreshing Caribbean Sea.  Providing guests with their own little oasis on world renowned Seven Mile Beach is what Plantana does best.

Can it get any better than this?!  Well, yes! Especially if you’re a foodie. For the past 11 years, the Cayman Islands has had the honor of being home to one of the most exciting food and wine festivals in the world.  This ‘treasured celebration’ is the one and only Cayman Cookout held January 17th – 20th at the Ritz-Carlton Grand Cayman, a 10-minute walk from Plantana.  A four-day epicurean extravaganza, this popular affair is hosted by internationally-acclaimed chef Eric Ripert.

Cayman Cookout has earned a reputation for its incredible event line up and world-class celebrity chefs such as Emeril Lagasse and José Andrés, who will host ‘Olé José’ and ‘Essential BAM!!!’ respectively.  This year there are more than 50 events that will have you fully immersed not only in food and wine, but also in Cayman’s gorgeous natural environment.  From diving and culling lion fish with celebrity chefs to savoring decadent creations at the Beach Bash in Rum Point to feteing aboard a catamaran in the Caribbean blue, Cayman Cookout is an absolute must.

Prepare to dine and be dazzled in paradise at this highly anticipated gastronomic event and learn tricks of the trade from the world’s culinary greats. The festival has something delicious on offer until 11:45pm every night to suit your schedule.  Once you’ve had your fill, return to your beach home, inspired, and recharge after a long day of festivities.
