Fall is one of the best times to visit Cayman. Not only do you get the opportunity to escape plunging temperatures and bask in the sunshine at Plantana, you can also enjoy some of Cayman’s most entertaining events.

For starters, October is truly exciting as it is Restaurant Month. Yes, you read that right: Restaurant MONTH! Select restaurants will put together carefully crafted menus to whet your appetite, leaving you full without emptying your wallet. This is the perfect time to sample cuisine from a restaurant that might have caught your eye but that you’ve never had the chance to visit, or, to reacquaint yourself with an old favorite. With Plantana’s central location on Seven Mile Beach, you will never be too far from something delicious.

Want to tantalize your taste buds even more? Then, get up close and personal with the many talented mixologists behind the island’s top bars during Cocktail Week. An offshoot of Restaurant Month, this is a weeklong celebration where you can join in on cocktail parties, demonstrations and tastings.

October is also host to the ultimate celebration of costumes and candy: Halloween. Nowhere on island does it quite like Camana Bay with their ‘Halloween Spooktacular’. There are creepy crafts and candy at every turn and DJs crank the tunes at the Monster Mash Bash, creating a ghoulish yet delightful atmosphere for the whole family to enjoy.  And it’s only a 5 minute drive from Plantana!

If you thought October was packed with fun, November has even more on offer.

Are you an athlete at the top of your game? Or just someone who loves a good challenge? Either way, the Cayman Islands Triathlon allows you to make the most of your time on the island, with swimming in the turquoise waters off Seven Mile Beach, followed by cycling and running along picturesque routes that showcase Grand Cayman’s beauty. It won’t be too hot as November usually features temperatures between the low 80s and mid-70s – pretty perfect in our books!

For anyone who ever wanted to be an extra in Pirates of the Caribbean, Pirates Week is the time to head to Cayman for our national festival. Taking place November 8th to 12th, there will be parades and fireworks displays, street dances, costume contests, sporting competitions, happy hours, a bevy of traditional foods, music and much more. But the key events that you don’t want to miss out on are the daily District Days where you can immerse yourself in Caymanian culture.

Not too long after Pirates Week, Camana Bay has its Annual Christmas Tree Lighting on November 17th. For this occasion, Santa takes time away from the North Pole to visit the tropics to ensure he doesn’t miss your wish list, even though you may be on vacation.

The rest of the Christmas fun takes place in December, with Cayman 27’s Parade of Lights. Tour and private boats are decorated with fairy-lights and are paraded around the Camana Bay harbor. There will also be live a Christmas market, live music and fireworks.

Full Marathon. Half Marathon. Team Relay. Whatever way you choose to get involved, you can do so at the Cayman Islands Marathon. The energy surrounding event is so warm and welcoming, you take memories to last a lifetime.

If we were to list all the events taking place around Christmas and New Year’s Eve, we would need to create a whole other website! We’re sure there is at least one thing to add some flavor to your Plantana visit this fall, so book now and stay with us for 5 nights through December 16, 2018 and we’ll give you a night on us to take advantage of all these wonderful activities.
