While the Cayman Islands may not be your typical idea of a winter wonderland, there is still plenty of holiday cheer spreading across the islands at this time of year. As the sun sets, Grand Cayman comes alive with twinkling Christmas lights adorning our beachfront condos, roads and homes throughout the island.

Camana Bay has festive fun for all the family throughout the month of December, kicking off with this weekend’s Parade of Lights which will see a procession of boats, aglow with brightly colored Christmas lights, pass through Camana Bay’s harbor. The event will also feature a Christmas market with local food and crafts, live music and a special visit from Santa. Weekly activities include the festive Moonlight and Movies series, a holiday market and plenty of opportunities to get your photo taken with Santa.

For those that want to see how the locals deck out their homes for the holidays, rent a car and take a short drive towards Spotts, where you will pass 2 family homes that always ensure their Christmas light displays are extra special. The Crighton family home, in Red Bay, and the Bodden family, in South Sound, both go all out to ensure that each year’s displays are bigger and better then the last. Both are open to the public, free to enjoy, and are sure to get you into the festive spirit.
