Just outside your doorstep at Plantana the beautiful Caribbean Sea that surrounds our picturesque island consistently beckons both visitors and locals to discover the amazing landscapes that hide within its crystal clear waters. For those who wish to test the waters before they jump into the world of diving, there are a number of different courses that you can take to test out your sea-legs (or should we say fins).

Sea Trek and Snuba Cayman offers a cross between snorkeling and scuba-diving, that gives you the thrill of swimming deeper than you could snorkeling, without the burden of scuba gear or the need for a certification. During your tour you will get to see the 120 foot wreck of the Cali, adjacent to a very well developed towering reef system. And with their office and dive site only a short 10 minute drive from Plantana’s Seven Mile Beach location, you won’t have to go too far to experience the magic below Cayman’s waters.

Another great way to try out scuba-diving is to take a resort course or discover scuba diving course. During your session a PADI dive instructor will go over a short information session and a shallow water practice session with you before you go on your dive. Cayman Diving, Ambassador Divers, The Lobster Pot Dive Centre, Red Sail Cayman, Don Foster’s Dive Cayman, Living the Dream Divers, Off the Wall Divers and Indigo Divers all offer this course and are only a short drive away from Plantana.

Although you may be a bit nervous to take that first leap into the world of diving, we’re sure once you take that first dip, you’ll never look back.
